NEW LOCAL LAW 31 COMPLIANCE
Effective August 9th, 2020, Local Law 31 requires landlords to use an EPA certified firm, independent of the owner, to test for the presence of lead-based paint in all dwelling units of residential properties built prior to 1960. These inspections must be completed by August 9th 2025, or within 1 year of a child under 6 moving into an apartment (whichever is sooner).
